NY Coo Gallery features a solo-exhibition of paintings by artist Keico Watanabe who since arriving in New York works to connect art between Japan and New York.
Keico has been imagining and painting many stories about the stars-human relationship.  In this show, she turns her attention to the sounds of New York and poetry of the heart.
The sounds that caught her interest are the cacophony of the cars, subways, construction sites, and the voices of the people from around the world, as well as the music from the live-house jazz clubs.  And there are the dramas playing out on the streets and lives unfolding in every window.
Between the skyscrapers there are stars no matter how limited the view of the sky, the sun shines its blessings on the earth and the many blessings of nature are visible in the landscapes throughout the four seasons.  And there are songs that reflect all the aspects of grief and joy that people experience in their lives.
Keicofs gHallelujah Songsh Series inspired by the 150 Psalms of the Old Testament and gOutcry of the Heart, and Its Gloryh series make up the works in this exhibition drawing on the world created by people in this day and age in New York, the greatest city on Earth.
Keico wants everyone to know the pleasures of painting and her unique artistic expression to create joy in the hearts of the viewer.
On June 21st, the final day of the show, a live performance by Takeshi Asai, jazz pianist and composer, ole projet eLlectrique is scheduled for a collaborative performance of art and music. Please stop by to see and to listen.
